We have visited Chincoteague many times for the past 25 years but never took a boat tour. Now that we're grandparents, this seemed like a wonderful way to introduce our six year old granddaughter to Chincoteague. Captain Henry provided more than just a boat tour, he included a wonderful history of the island. He is a native of Chincoteague and... More

We went on this boat tour the day after one of their busiest days. It was wonderful !! Very informative and adventure some for us! We almost were able to pick a hermit crab from the water!! It was a boat ride we won't forget. Very personable captain.

What a trip!!! We visited past August and I've been meaning to write a review for such an unforgettable boat trip. We cruised along, with the wind in our hair on such a beautiful sunny day while our captain (can't recall his name now) told us the history of Chincoteague Island and the annual pony crossing among other interesting tidbits.... After reading the great reviews for Saltwater Pony Tours, I called Captain Henry to schedule a cruise for myself, my husband, and our five-year-old. He worked with me to pick the best date and time, weather-wise, and cautioned us to dress appropriately for the weather, as it is November. Upon arriving at the dock, Captain Henry was very friendly and... More

Went with Captain Henry in early Oct. We had an awesome tour, enjoying not only the ponies but the history of the island and also the dolphins and the birds. .We chose to go on the early tour and Henry explained that the wind was supposed to pick up later that day. Towards the end of the tour Henry asked... More

We were on the final leg of a ladies trip and had booked a tour to see the Chincoteague ponies. Luckily we booked the Saltwater Pony tours with Captain Henry. The day turned out to be beautiful for November 1st. Captain Henry went above and beyond to find ponies and put us as close as one could possibly be in... More

Captain Henry's boat can take up to 6 passengers, so this is a personal tour. It was even better than advertised. Henry took us all the way around Chincoteage Island and gave us the history of this Island and how the famous Pony Swim came to be. We also got information on Wallops Island, a NASA launch site, and e... More

We went out on the boat with Henry on a late October day and it was fantastic. We saw four different groups of ponies Henry was a great commentator of the history of the area. We did more than just watch ponies, we saw birds, we heard about the history and we had fun speeding around the island. What more... More

Henry gave us a great tour around Chincoteague Island. We made a last-minute reservation and Henry was very accommodating to our changing schedule. We ended up taking what turned out to be a "sunset" cruise, leaving at 4:00 PM. Shortly after we left he noticed a pod of dolphins and we chased them almost all the way down to Wallops... More

Thank you so much for the great review! I really enjoyed having you on my boat. Please come again. I'd like to straighten out a detail about were I grew up. I grew up in the same county as Chincoteague, but not on the island. I hail from the town of Accomac. It is the county seat for Accomack County,... More

We went out with Henry on a chilly but bright Monday in late October and had a great time. He was prompt, interesting, considerate and knew the history of the island. He was able to stop the boat in the middle of a pod of dolphins - up close and personal! We saw the ponies at the edge of the... More
