Monticello and its many historical rooms, gadgets, furniture, buildings, and artifacts tell us a lot about Thomas Jefferson, the president who built it and lived there.

This is our second time in this beautiful American treasure. This time we were prepared a bit more and bought a book about what we're going to see inside the house and grounds. I even made the kids (12 and 10) read some of it...More

You don't have to be a history buff to enjoy this visit. They have preserved the grounds as close to the way Jefferson left it. Beautiful gardens and a very informative house tour. The offer two additional tours, all included in the price of admission....More

My daughter and I took her 3 boys on the family tour. It was geared towards the kids with special props and fun facts for them. So informative yet entertaining. So glad we went and I highly recommend.

House tour and garden tour were really well done. Everyone was friendly and the facility was clean. I recommend that you buy and read the National Geographic Monticello tour book and Americas First Daughter - makes it all come alive!!

This was well worth our trip to Charlottesville. We had a great tour guide, the visitors center is beautiful, the shuttle bus ride to the house is very comfortable. The movie at the visitors center is also a great overview.

The house is fascinating, but the stories are more compelling. The tour included the house, garden tour, and slave quarters tour. The house tour was very interesting (our guide was very good). We also took the slave tour. This was sobering and interesting to hear...More

We toured Monticello today and found the visitor's center to be quite new and laid out very well. We watched an interesting short movie to start off the tour. The tour guides at the main house are truly excellent.
