Nice, easy hike through a butterfly field, past old artillery, to beautiful views of the salt marsh and ocean. Good visitor center with short video. Good way to spend an hour or two.

Nice trails along the marsh areas of the eastern shore. Visit the information building for background and history, nice place to start your hike. The Ranger on duty was very engaging and helpful. Don't miss the the WWII gun placement.

Is there a charge to go there? I didn't see any information about that on the site. It looks like a great place to go and see the nature.

There is no charge for the visitor center and the surrounding trails. There is a charge of $13-$15 for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel if you are coming from the south (Virginia Beach) or heading south after visiting.
