We enjoyed the film, museum and grounds of the last home of Patrick Henry. The museum staff were very attentive and informative. The grounds surrounding his very modest home were beautiful. This is really remotely located but worth a trip if you are nearby.

I hadn't known about this place until Googled places of interest in Southern Virginia. I am so glad we were able to visit. It is an out of the way destination, but well worth it. I was with my daughter, who didn't really remember much about him from the history books, so this was a great refresher into Patrick Henry... More

This historical site is well off the beaten track! But you are interested in the story of American independence it is well worth your time. The Visitors Center and Museum alone are worth the trip since they have and introductory film and a number of relics of the Henry family that are worth seeing. This will give you a more... More

Drive down rural roads in the autumn to the resting place of Patrick Henry and learn about one of our early leaders and first governor of Virginia. This location has a internal museum and video that informs visitors about Patrick Henry. Plan to spend some time ( 1 hour or more). After viewing the inside museum, take a walk around... More

If you are in the Appomattox Courthouse area, you are close. Patrick died here and his law office is original. The main house is a replica, with family furniture and memorabilia, and is a good example of a period house in this area. Film is well done and see it first. Museum room has additional artifacts including the famous painting... More

Red Hill is a great place to spend a 1/2 day with your family. Arrive early, tour the visitor center and then tour the grounds. Bring a picnic lunch with you and enjoy the peace and quiet as you sit with your family and discuss all you have learned about one GREAT patriotic figure in the history of our country.

Red Hill came highly recommended by folks in the area and it was AWESOME! I called ahead to ask about the amount of time needed for our visit and 1 to 1½ hours was suggested. It was not nearly enough time. There were four of us – two couples and we spent half a day there. We found the volunteers... More
