I really enjoy the Huckleberry Trail and was excited to stumble upon this little Heritage Park. I enjoyed reading the signs and looking around, but I wasn't thrilled but it. There could be more and better signage or maybe something interactive to improve the park.

Nice place to walk and take pictures. Some info graphs are around. There are a lot of names of those killed.

We enjoyed a recent bike ride on the Huckleberry Trail and spent our rest time in the Coal Mining Heritage Park area. The signs explaining the history of the area were very informative. The area is well maintained. It's a good place for pictures also. There are also trails maintained off the main paved bike trail for hiking.

Our family has used this place a couple times for walks. There is a nice loop trial that must be ~1 mile long. Some of the elevated bridges fit the nature well and are fun for younger children. Adults enjoyed reading the signs about where the village once stood. We all enjoyed seeing creatures in the water where the trail... More

The Coal Mining Heritage Park is hardly a park, however, it is a surprising break from the mundane run of the Huckleberry Trail. It isn't often that you stumble upon a few interesting signs and artifacts while doing a workout. It would be a great trek for visiting family and friends, too, because you get to see a little bit... Out on my morning run I took the Huckleberry Trail from near the police station in Blacksburg south toward Christianburg. Along the trail at about 4 miles is the Coal Mining Heritage Park with a few artifacts and interpretive signs. Well kept. There is a also a single track loop trail (that I did not take). Would not go out... More

The trail is a nice system that goes from Blacksburg to Christiansburg. It is about 5 miles long, and paved the whole length.

Title says everything. It is on the Huckleberry trail. You can stop by and you will have seen it all in a glimpse of an eye. Or did I just miss something?
