small day use park there. It is free to use, but not easy to find as there is no directional signing. It looked like a nice, quiet place and we intend to come back later in the summer to kayak on the 9 mile long...More

A local shop owner recommended we go see the reservoir and when she said it had a Glory Hole, I was intrigued! The walkway offers a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and has a nice hiking path if you have the time.

Accidentally stumbled on this from Wilmington when stayed straight on 100 at stop light instead of turning on 9. Road soon turns into dirt road & then there are pull overs and picnic areas. So peaceful. Gorgeous in the fall!

there are no signs to indicate Ward's Cove, but it's a great little beach by the lake. Very nice place to have a picnic, swim in the lake and sunbathe.

Took the hoot toot and whistle walking trail from downtown Wilmington to the reservoir. It was a lovely walk with a well marked trail. The end opened up to a picnic area and dock on the water with boaters, kayakers, and picnickers. Highly recommended.

I didn't see any dogs while I was there on two different days, but that might not mean anything. Perhaps it's website may have an answer.
