I had called the climbing center to arrange a "special" and adventurous trip for my fiancés 40th birthday. We are pretty active hikers and outdoor people so I wanted a special, not run of the mill adventure. Steve immediately called me back with questions, options, and ideas. We booked a rappelling and a little climbing trip for 1 day. Immediately... More

What a fantastic place. Steve and the staff at the Green Mountain Rock Climbing Gym are brilliant. As complete beginners, never having set foot on a climbing wall, we arrived with 3 kids aged 3 to 10 and there was equipment and suitable climbing walls for each of them....and us!! The helpful instruction and encouragement was great. Welcoming, helpful and... More

We have been coming to GMRCC for about a year now - and its been great every time. Steve and all the staff will create whatever type of activity you prefer - if you want to climb inside, outside, or even ice climb. We always feel safe with their thorough preparation and instruction. Great for beginners or advanced, and all... More

At first glance, the place was not impressive because of its small stature, even though they've quaintly painted it. But because the manager took the time, spoke to us, instructed us etc he made it more delectable. The only thing was he then made a comment about how if we had gone to a bigger rock climbing gym the manager... More

Friendly and welcoming to novices, kids, and experienced climbers. Willing to bring those with rusty skills back into the fold. I recently took an 8 year old to the center. Staff gave me a short refresher on belaying, and off we went. My little climber spent almost two hours there, and made it to the top of the 30 foot... More

I've been here 4-5 times since I moved to Vermont and it has been different everytime. The only consistent is the very friendly and helpful staff (not condecending AT ALL for fellas in this line of work). On the right day, you can walk right up to one of the ropes and tie in, no waiting at all for anything.... More

This is a great place to bring the family. The atmosphere is casual and happy. They offer many different climbing opportunities for all ages and abilities. The owner is a throwback hippy with a ton of military and emergency medical experience. He is a great guy to talk to and his passion for climbing is evident. His staff is very... More

Nice place, you can rent equipment and take a lesson on rock climbing. They have an area for younger kids to climb, lots of different walls for different levels of climbers. You can also rent out the building for parties or group events. They have a upper level for parties so you can have food or cake or whatever fits... More
