Took a four-day trek in the fall and enjoyed myself so much came back in the dead of winter for a different riding experience. The fall trek had peak foliage and tremendous views to offer, the winter riding was like being in a living Vermont postcard! What was consistent about both trips was the knowledgeable owner and staff, the immaculately... More

I took part in a 4 day trek and thoroughly enjoyed it. Karen has an obvious love for this breed of horse, and runs a great business with treks of varying lengths in the surrounding mountains. The horses are willing. responsive and steady. Scenery is incredible. The tolt gait is a delight.

We booked an hour trail ride with these beautiful and interesting horses. The Icelandic horses are smaller than a typical horse and to my uneducated eye, just a little bit furrier. Icelandic horses are known for a specific gait called "tolting" which is sort of like a rolling fast walk. The horses were very well kept. The barn is immaculate... More

We came upon this horse farm by chance. The owners were very welcoming since we were there not to ride but to photograph the horses. They let us walk around to take pictures and answered all our questions about the horses. While none of us (seniors) were interested in riding, they gave us a lot of information and the rates... We reserved a 2 hour ride a day ahead. I appreciated the flexibility of timing, but then we were told we could have a 1.5 hour ride when we got there. There were family events happening at the farm, so I shrugged it off. But the rudeness of the guide and staff were remarkable. There was no real guidance beyond... More

I love Icelandic horses and miss riding in Iceland, so I was so excited when my husband told me we were going riding in Vermont! This was an amazing experience. The horses were incredibly gentle and friendly, and so responsive. The tolting was some of the smoothest I've ever experienced, and cantering was like flying. Our guide, Jessica, was wonderful.... I've always wanted to ride an Icelandic horse and the Icelandic horse farm did not disappoint. The farm itself is situated on a stunning mountainside, the barn is clean and well kept and the horses clearly well looked after and happy. All the staff are friendly and there are plenty of other cute barn yard animals to welcome you-from dogs... More

A beautiful farm with extremely friendly and patient owners and guides. You get to wait with a farm cat (careful, he seems friendly but lets you know when he's done with you) silky chickens and a sweetheart hen who falls asleep on you when you pet her. The horses are well kept and truly loved. Stables are immaculate and the... More

Ok - for me, the two hour ride was a bit pricey (about $95) and my boyfriend wouldn't spend that much so I went alone. I have been thinking about going there for a week of vacation sometime so wanted to check it out and to see what riding an Icelandic horse was like. It seemed that at times, when... More

I spent a week riding with Karen. I can't say enough about the way she cares for her horses and for riders. She gives each rider individual attention and takes great care matching horse and rider. The trails were beautiful!
