We were just passing through Montpellier and didn't know this museum would be so interesting. We were disappointed that the State House was closed on Saturday, but this was the next most interesting site for us. We learned a lot and could have spent much more time here. It's also great for kids since there are many interactive exhibits. There... More

Need to know more about unknown facts about Vermont? This is the place right on State street next to the capital. Very helpful informed and educated staff. Great field trip for both kids or adults.

I have taught American History in school before and I learned many things that I did not know about the Revolution and about Vermont. If you are a history buff this is a great place to get to know the state of Vermont. You can cover it quickly or make a 1/2 day of it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this museum. The displays are well done and give much information about the state, its people, industries, history, etc. I think we were inside a little over an hour, and if time allowed, we could have spent more time there. Well worth it, and very reasonably priced ($7, adult; $5, senior).

We entered the museum rather late in the day but the volunteer attendant was so friendly. She suggested that a visit normally takes about an hour. We toured what we could not wanting to stay past 4:00. If you enjoy history and the formative years of the state and it's culture please do visit.

We stopped here after visiting the State House. It's a small museum doesn't take long to visit. It was mostly geared toward kids, with lots of hands on displays. It looked like a place schools take field trips. It was still interesting but not a must see.

I enjoyed my visit to the Vermont Historical Society Museum. The price was reasonable at $5 for a senior. The museum was laid out in a way where it was relatively easy to find your way through it,. The displays did a good job of telling the story of Vermont's history. I found it to be a good way to... More
