An all-ages activity, well-worth the trip! Side bonus: if you like geology, you will enjoy the wonderful display at the peak (quartz-sericite-chlorite-albite schist - early Cambrian age). Be sure and look for the 2 USGS markers..

We stayed at Jay Peak off-season and we were excited to take the tram to the top of the mountain with our kids and hike down. Unfortunately, the tram was down during our only full day there, so we didn't get the full mountain experience:(

While visiting northern Vermont, we rode the tram to the top of Jay Peak. It runs every 30 minutes on the hour/half hour, and costs about $10, which is really a bargain as compared to the Stowe gondola ride [which is $28]. The ride up...More

The ride to the top was interesting. Seeing the start of the foliage and not white snow. Weather was clear and you could see for miles. The snack bar was open and the ice cream treat was a pleasure. You could walk down on the...More

It's a nice ride to the top, kids will enjoy. At the top there is several trails, and a nice rock to climb. Weather is just s little more colder. There is a deli at the top.

I'm pretty much scared to death of heights, but do "stupid" things like this. The day we went, was off season in the fall just as colors were changing. It was the operator, my wife, myself and our English Bulldog on the tram. I pretty...More

Took the tram to the top on a somewhat overcast day. It wasn't that crowded which was great. The ride up is slow and steady and gives you a chance to take in the view and take pictures if you want to. Once to the...More
