This is THE bookstore. I have been waiting to revisit this bookstore for a few years. Now I think it will be a yearly visit. It is fabulous. We literally spent the day here. We went in and browsed for awhile, checking out all the sections. Then we had a lunch from their Cafe, after lunch we got serious about... More

I was visiting friends in VT, and we went to this bookstore as my friend had been there before and wanted to show it to me! What a treasure, and very large! Could've spent hours here! Very fun place, lots of neat stuff and books! Highly recommend!

This place is huge. It was so nice to walk around all the different sections. It was quaint and had different souvenirs to big as well. There is a large children's section on the top floor of the bookstore. My boyfriend is not a reader and enjoyed walking around and browsing. The cafe attached has great sandwiches/wraps and there is... More

This is where my parents used to bring me when we were visiting my grandparents. The store is just as magical, with a knowledgable staff and the creaky woods floors I always loved. My kids holed up in the children's section for a good hour, reading away. I hope this place stays around for another 30 years!

I have been coming to this bookstore ever since I moved up to Vermont in 2010. This bookstore has a great atmosphere, friendly help and of course books as far as the eye can see. There is even some nice homemade beauty products as you walk in. Make sure you make a stop at their adorable cafe on your way... More

Easy to understand why this is one of the US' best bookstores. Friends are amazed at what they fund. Used books reveal treasures, super specials near door are also. Staff is so knowledgeable. Great cafe food.

I'm partial to my hometown bookstore in Madison, CT (RJ Julia's) but this jewel lies in the quaint heart of Manchester, VT and is one of my favorite places to find a good book or two! I love the children's section upstairs and the old iron staircase. Not many bookstores are left that also provide exceptional service and provide handwritten... More

A must stop each time I'm in Manchester... A fabulous independently owned shop with knowledgeable staff. Warm and inviting, great children's section.
