Took my girlfriend and her kids and mine through the loop last summer. She had lived in vernal most of her adult life and had never been to see the area. We had a blast driving through the area and checking out the scenery. Kids enjoyed it too and anytime they put down the tablets and other electronics and have... More

If you are in Flaming Gorge already this a great little side trip. The crust of the earth is folded sideways and it is easy to see the layers. There's a nice picnic spot at the half way point of the loop. You can see lots of mule deer and mountain goats usually right from the car; bring a pair... More

This is the most amazing drive thru time that you take ever take! The geological formations are incredible. Every corner you take is another view that you want to stop to take pictures. We enjoyed it so much that we drove it both directions!

Don't miss the beauty. Take the road slow, look up and around. Beautiful geological features. It was snowing hard when we passed through but there was still plenty to see.

We went through this area in early October and it was just stunning but anytime of the year is probably good. The loop in some areas has steep cliffs that come very close to each other with many changes in the geological strata that can be plainly seen. Some signage along the way. I have a moon roof so it... We did this trip in the mid afternoon on 8/15. The drive is two-way, but I believe it is best to from the highest elevation (South entrance) down into the canyon. One still sees formations here that have been eroded further south in Utah. This is a "must see" when one is in the Flaming Gorge region.

This is a 13-mile scenic loop south of Manila. The scenery is worth the trip even if you are not a fan of geology. If you are interested in geology this is like nirvana.

For an out the car window geological tour this can not be beat. So many changes into geological structures and formations in a short distance. This is one side trip you will not soon forget.

We decided to drive around the loop after Flaming Gorge. We were all glad we did. The scenery was stunning and a geologists' paradise. The rock formations were amazing. If you are near Sheep Creek, then this drive is a must

This was such a beautiful loop that we just happened on to. We thought is could be a national park! We took our bikes off the car and rode them for a few miles so that we could soak in the beauty. We stopped and ate lunch and also stopped to see Big Spring. There was a cave above Big... More
