Any time you can still see petroglyphs and pictographs in the same place, it's worth the stop. Just getting to the site of them is an adventure in itself. We stopped in the center of Thompson and took photos of the buildings. While we were...More

We had this on our road trip quick stop off "to do" list. The canyon isn't that spectacular and the panel of pictographs is neat but not nearly as commanding as some others in the area. Do yourself a favor, skip this stop and head...More

If you like petroglyphs, this is a great stop. Close to Moab and just 4 miles north of I-70 (between Grand Junction, CO and Green River, UT), it is an easy drive to these well marked glyphs which encompass 3 different civilizations (Barrier, Freemont and...More

The petroglyphs are just a short walk from the parking area. There are multiple petroglyph sites around the parking area. It was well worth the drive!

Stunning rock art. Multiple panels. Gravel parking lot with a vault toilet. Some signs describing the type of rock art. We were staying in Moab and it took maybe an hour to get here but it was worth it.

It's in the middle of nowhere, but the petroglyphs are a must see if you are in the area. You wonder what the artists wanted to represent, some characters really look like some aliens. It was like in that Prometheus movie... So here are real...More

The petroglyphs are about 4 miles from the freeway so they are easy to get to. I would not make this a destination by itself but if you are remotely close it is worth the visit. The one panel with the amorphic figures is excellent....More

This really is a hidden gem - you really would have no idea that these petroglyphs are here. Without much of a walk, you can see petroglyphs of at least 3 different historic eras: Ute, Fremont and Barrier. And there are informational signs to help...More
