What a neat museum. Actual trains and "stuff". A great history lesson for train buffs and anyone interested in the history of our country.

I am not a huge train fan. I would say the museum is average at best. Model trains were cool and I do feel the staff works very hard to make it a good experience for people and they have great knowledge of railroad history.

Don't miss seeing D&RG steam engine 223 which is being restored on Saturdays at the north end of the depot track-side.

It appears that some people limit their visit to the free outside exhibit of locomotives and cars. Too bad. The inside museum has a very interesting description of the development and construction of the transcontinental railroad supplemented by a 45 minute Modern Marvels video. There...More

If you're a train buff, definitely check this out if you're traveling by Ogden on I-15. The open-air museum is open on Sunday - when many Utah attractions are closed - and admission is free. An interesting collection of mostly locomotives shoehorned into a very...More

There are some food things about this site. One is the building itself (Union Station) which while not nearly as impressive as other old railway stations such as Denver or i. KC, is still nice. The second is the price. Veey affordable (3 for kids,...More

Modest selection of engines, etc well displayed and with good signage. The hospital car was the most interesting to me as I had not seen one before (of course it makes sense they existed). I appreciated the information on the placards so I could learn...More

Went with some train-crazy family members. I've been there multiple times and there always seems to be something new to be discovered. Utah's railroad history is the nation's railroad history, after all.

This was an awesome find of trains in storage for showcase and were somewhat protected under a canopy from direct sun, rain or whatever comes down from the heavens. This is a great stop for any train buff who enjoys looking at the great work...More

Came here during winter. IT was pretty cool to see the different trains and engines and how they were built, but after a while it kinda felt repetitive to me. It was cold outside, as it is outside under a shelter. I know people come...More
