Wow! If at all possible, hike the Chesler Park Loop when visiting the Needles District. Start early, have good maps, and bring lots of water... you'll be glad you did. This is a beautiful hike that is also exhilarating, but be prepared.

Amazing scenery, well marked trail with some interesting features such as a 100-feet walk through a very narrow passageway between two immense boulders. Very hot.

Chesler Park Loop / Joint Trail is 11 mi/18 km roundtrip from the Elephant Hill trailhead, which can be accessed by a 3 mi well-maintained dirt road. The gravel road is easily doable in a sedan, except after it rains because part of the road...More

Left at 11:00 am, came back at 7:00 pm. Such a beautiful hike! A spring-like, overcast, 70 degree day in April was perfect! Bring 3x as much water as you normally drink in a day, and plenty of snacks, and you will love it! Hike...More

Chesler Park & Joint Loop Trails - This is by far the best hike in the park. If will give you the best views and incorporate the best sections of the park into one LONG hike (10.4 miles). It is a strenuous hike, but not...More

My boyfriend and I stayed at CP2 in Chesler Park for a night and absolutely loved it. We ended up hiking in (kind of exhausting packing in all your water mostly uphill), setting up camp, and then doing a day hike to Druid Arch. I...More

We did this great, 11 mile trek the third week into our holiday with a lot of treks under our belt and so were acclimatized and quite fit, but it was still a hefty hike - take note. Getting there: start very earyl to avoid...More

This trail is without any doubt one of the most beautiful we've ever done. We did it in high summer and it's okay. Just bring enough water. The best part is that we didn't have to share this wonder of nature with anyone like in...More
