I am an intermediate canyoneering and was looking to take my skill to the next level. Rick is THE guide of all guides. A compassionate and passionate teacher. He wants you to succeed. He wants you to be safe. One of my favorite concepts is his zen like attitude toward Cayoneering. Purposeful not slow, calculating not cavalier, creative not blunt.... More

My backpacking crew and I did this trip on our annual hiking trip. It was a great day. It was sufficiently challenging but yet we all felt safe on the trip. None of us are regular rock climbers and we all had fun

I can't say enough about how fun and informational our recent Canyoneering trip with Rick was. Rick was the ultimate teacher/leader; always emphasizing safety first and passionate about protecting us and the canyon we explored. As with all great teachers he was methodical and gently repetitive in his instructions. Part cheerleader ("you can do this guys!"), part naturalist (he rescued... More

My daughter and I spent a day with Rick exploring one of the many slot canyons near Escalante. Both of us had some, but not much, canyoneering experience with guides. Rick made it clear from the start of the day that our safety was paramount, but that having a remarkable, unique and fun experience ranked a close second. His enthusiasm... More

"Introduce yourselves and get to know each other. You are going to be family for the day." was the first instruction for our adventure. Next the safety talk and we were on our way, packs filled with the necessary gear and a nutritious lunch, care of Amy, to keep our energy up. Our excursion was headed up by Rick Green... More

I am a 20 year old college student. I do triathlons and Spartan races. My family and I (we are ranged from age 20-60 all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels) canyoneered with Excursions of Escalante in August 2016. My boyfriend and I both said it was by far the coolest day of our lives! Rick and Charles emphasize safety and... More

This is the first review that I have done and our amazing canyoneering adventure at Excursions of Escalante inspired me to write one. Rick and Charles were our guides for a full day canyoneering tour in Escalante. Even though this was our second tour, it exceeded our expectations. We want to do guided tours for several reasons: 1) to have... More

He also loves putting teenagers "to work" in the canyons creating that family bonding experience throughout the day. Have an epic Fall season and... More

Rick and Charles took good care of us on our day trip through a slot canyon! Rick has a passion for what he does and advocates safety at every educational moment. He decides on the canyon of the day based on the groups ability and the weather. We had clouds that morning so he chose a canyon that we could... More

Spent the day canyoneering with Rick and Charles who are both awesome. Rick advocates fun but safety above anything else. He was in the army & has search and rescue credentials. Super down to earth, friendly, easy going, doesn't rush things. Taught us different ways to climbs, walk, etc. He reads each group to see how experienced we are and... More
