For our three day stay near Bryce Canyon, we chose Tropic, Utah. I was unaware that this state park existed, until my wife mentioned that she did not have time to stop and visit this park when she was here about 20 years ago with...More

I really enjoyed hiking at Kodachrome State Park. Absolutely gorgeous views and well-maintained trails. Totally worth it. We did not camp there, went for the day only, but the camground looks good.

A very short paved road is about all you will encounter here without off-roading. Short hikes are pleasant and the scenery quite enjoyable. Mid- May was not too warm but we imagine the summer heat must be intense. Allow a few hours for this attraction...More

It is not too far off the highway to reach this small State Park. Many interesting walks/hikes of varying severity can be taken. Interesting blend of white rocks with the red sandstone.

Short drive on paved road off the main hwy. Squeaky clean, restrooms, shaded picnic facilities, beautiful camp ground and Fabulous views. Lots of short easy walks out into the landscape features.

We loved our campsite at kodachrome basin! We spent both days in Bryce Canyon. The drive was 30-45 min and beautiful. The sites were private and basin campground had a really nice bathroom with free showers! After spending a few nights at national park sites,...More

Beautiful park! The facilities were great, new and clean. Staff super friendly and helpful. Loved being here and getting to explore the quiet solitude along the great trails.

While not the same grandeur as Bryce, Kodachrome has its own beautiful views and offers opportunities to explore away from the crowds of the national parks.

Just left the Grand Canyon and pulled in here but due to the lack of interesting scenery we left almost immediately.

We camped at arch group camp site in this park. Easy access to bathroom and fire pit. Multiple flat and shaded areas to camp and good privacy. Busy season, I would recommend to make reservations.

We will be driving along Hwy 12 in October from Capitol Reef to Zion. We were at Bryce many years ago. Should we either take a short side trip to Kodachrome Basin or one to Bryce?

I would have to recommend Bryce if you only have time for one of the two parks. The scenery at Bryce is of a unique nature and on a scale that is hard to match. Bryce is also well suited to driving through in that there is... More
Does anyone know if the room has a hair dryer? I was hoping I could get one to borrow in our room. We will be flying in and have limited space. Thanks

Hi, I stayed one night last April. It is a camp - not a motel. Tents and RV's. Electric outlet in public facilities only. Scenery pays for everything.

Hi, I have no idea, we were there only for a few hours, but did not see any dogs. This is a Utah State Park, maybe their website has that info. Leo
