We had never heard of this park until we saw some signs pointing to it. We decided to give it a look. It was a cold day in February. It was wonderfully peaceful. We didn't see a single other person. The rock formations are very...More

This Utah State Park tucked away at the edge of Grand Escalante National Monument is a true gem. The little developed camping area is very pleasant and neat as a pin. (It is pretty popular so it is best to have a reservation to camp...More

We visited just before Christmas and so had the entire park to ourselves. We explored several trails and found the monoliths quite amazing and the area very photogenic. It's worth the drive there.

We only had time for a quick stop whilst enroute to Monument Valley. Could certainly spend more time exploring this area.

My husband and I went on a road trip to southern Utah and we stopped at Kodachrome. We had visited Zion National Park and we thought the Kodachrome was a bit of a disappointment. It was nice, there were campsites and restrooms scattered around the...More

I did all the trails, and the best part? Nearly empty. The quiet was incredible, the phallic pipes whimsical, the terrain enchanting. The best part of the park is the well cared-for campground with noise rules that are actually followed. That makes a big difference...More

We had an extra day in the Bryce Canyon area. What to do? We decided on Kodachrome Basin State Park. It's a little ways out of town, but an interesting drive. There were only a few other cars there. The entry fee is $8 but...More

This park has been on our list a long time and we finally got there today. Unfortunately we didn’t have as much time as we would like so we’re probably coming back next year. It reminds me of Bryce Canyon but different and really nice....More

We stopped here on our way to Bryce, and are happy we did. So serene and lovely. Very few people here- great place to hike short or long.

Kodachrome Basin State Park is a photographer's paradise -- great views without the hassle of avoiding tour groups. Definitely worth the detour from Highway 12.

I would have to recommend Bryce if you only have time for one of the two parks. The scenery at Bryce is of a unique nature and on a scale that is hard to match. Bryce is also well suited to driving through in that there is... More

Hi, I stayed one night last April. It is a camp - not a motel. Tents and RV's. Electric outlet in public facilities only. Scenery pays for everything.

Hi, I have no idea, we were there only for a few hours, but did not see any dogs. This is a Utah State Park, maybe their website has that info. Leo
