Tip here is to stop first at the Big Water Visitor Center for directions to reach the hoodoos. We did not do this, relying instead on rather vague directions from a trustworthy internet site. While we had a fun walk up the dry creekbed and...More

We went here today and followed the directions to the parking area and then hiked in the wash. There were no signs. We saw what we assume were once signs but we're currently just boards hanging up with no info. There was a fence across...More

The rock formations here are outstanding! It is well wort the 20mile drive from Glenn Canyon Dam. There are signs along the road where to park. Beware, there is no shade or water and be prepared for at least a one mile walk.

Wahweap Hoodos is a very remote place that requires a very long quite difficult hike in the sandy Wahweap Wash. But it is worth the effort of getting there. At the end of the hike you will see many White and Grey Mushroom-Like Formations with...More

What a fantastic fantasyland! Be prepared for a long walk down a mostly dry wash, but the payoff is terrific. I know of no other place that offers the sights you will encounter here. Absolutely bring your camera - and an extra battery along with...More

We hiked to the Towers of Silence on Sept. 19, 2015. The hike is in the Wahweap Creek bed and is a bit over 9 miles. The creek appears to run all year, so you end up crossing over the water many times. The hike...More
