We have driven by the Doss Heritage and Cultural Center countless times and never stopped in until I had a nearby appointment. We were so short on time we couldn't stay, but a few minutes. However, we made a quick run-through and will definitely return several times. Their staff is exceptional, and I don't know of many places where you... More

This is a regional museum worth a stop if you are passing through Weatherford! The highlights are the stagecoach in the lobby, original covered wagon and regional history highlighted in various displays. The stagecoach in the lobby was built by a local craftsman specifically for the museum. It is massive! Excellent craftsmanship! Amazing to see! A great kiosk presentation of... More

Doss showcases a lovely snapshot of the cultural and historical significance of Parker County, Texas. The building & grounds are beautiful! I think any age group can appreciate the artifacts preserved here, it is small and intimate, not overwhelming. Definitely great as a family outing! I highly recommend. There is a small charge.

The Doss is a true treasure of Parker County History. Housed at the Doss are artifacts of early Parker County Settlers and Modern people of fame. Just to see the stagecoach is worth the visit.

The Doss Heritage Center is a lot like a museum, but seemed to me to be a lot more interesting. There are all types of artifacts for the old west including a full size stage coach that is a real attraction. Parking is more that ample, and it is located within one mile of some of the best food in... More

We finally stopped in to this little gem during a rainy day. It was very interesting to learn about the history of the area and see a stagecoach. They even let us get in and experience what it might have been like to ride in one. The kids enjoyed the Lincoln Logs the best and wanted to stay and build... More

I attended a special event at the Heritage Center which I had visited before. The staff is friendly and helpful. I toured the museum and the exhibits are high quality and professional. They have some permanent exhibits and some rotating exhibits. Their collection is continually growing as memorabilia is donated and acquired. They are currently working on installation of a... More

We live in Weatherford, so this wonderful center is open to us year round. Currently we are attending the Doss at Night Lecture series on Parker County history, which is great! Every event we attend is fun and meaningful, and we can't wait for the installation of the first log cabin! Thank you for keeping our history alive, and for... More

The Doss Heritage Center is a great place to visit for local artists or special exhibits. There is a nice permanent collection of Weatherford's Mary Martin and her son Larry Hagman's memorabilia here too. There is a nice large room to rent for special events and an outdoor wooded area available too. There is also a log cabin park in... More

This cultural center is a must when you visit Weatherford. It has a permanent exhibit of Mary Martin and her son Larry Hagman which is extremely interesting. The local artifacts and history in the other exhibits are not to be missed. An extremely lovely facility where you can become totally engrossed (as I did!).
