Krause Springs is a well-known camping & swimming site located in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. It is located in Spicewood, Texas approximately 30 miles west of Austin. The 115 acre property is listed on the National Registry of Historical Sites and has been privately owned by the Krause Family for over 50 years.Krause Springs has many natural sites to explore. There are 32 springs on the property, and several feed the manmade pool and the natural pool which flows into Lake Travis. It's a refreshing treat to swim in the Springs during the hot summers of Texas! If camping is in your plans, there is primitive tent camping as well as 24 RV sites with water and electricity available. Guests are also welcome to relax and to stroll through the Butterfly Gardens; take time to listen to the music of the wind chimes and the fountains during your visit!

This is a great place to spend a day cooling off in a beautiful natural spring. There is a cliff dive and rope swing. Bring good shoes with tread as the rocks are uneven and slippery and there are quite a few stairs to get...More

The grounds are wonderful. Its a great place for a picnic. The man-made pool (spring fed) is of moderate size but on a weekend its very crowded (and cold). The river swimming area is a concern. Its way too rocky and slippery for small kids...More

We had a bad experience on a busy Sunday. First, the staff is very nice, and the grounds are spectacular. But apparently the owners do not want to turn away paying admissions even if the pools are completely packed. We paid our $8 each, made...More

Krause Springs is truly a wonder! I'm reluctant to review because I want to keep it a secret ;-) Pack a picnic and play to stay. Water is cool and refreshing, space is clean and open. Don't miss the butterfly gardens, either.

Very nice place to spend a hot summer day, the main swimming pool that is spring fed is ice cold and spills over into the creek below.
