We went down to the river with my daughter’s dog and they took a nice dip in the water. The spring fed river is crystal clear and a lot of locals including Texas State students were down there for a dip. The area near the...More

It's so beautiful in the morning. It's so green and the water is so cleared you can see the bottom. Recommend coming here during the week if you don't want too many people around if not it's worth coming to take a canoe trip.

We float regularly. It’s a peaceful and fun float. Our kids love the rocks for climbing and river fun. We like the leisurely pace!

Nice river despite an abundance of trash due to folks throwing beer cans, etc. into river (shame on you!). This float is VERY kid friendly and kid-full. I prefer less kids on my floats so this would be the last choice location for me as...More

Best tubing river for families, especially with small children. Take advantage of the Lion's Club tube rental in City Park and ride their shuttle back.

Going to the San Marcos is a beautiful experience. Seeing the crystal clear water and an occasional fish or 2 is one of the best ways to clear your head for a bit.

Not if you have your own tubes... After Memorial Day, the Lions Tube Rental opens and they provide ride services from Rio Vista back to the Lions Tube Rental.

They monitor the river flow. If it is flowing too fast, it is not safe on river. I would expect the hurricane and its slow move would drop much rain in area that tubing the river may be prohibited. I would continue... More
