Fort Concho is a short drive from downtown San Angelo, but if you are a history buff it could prove well worth the ride. There are displays fo the old cavalry Fort (some of which include uniforms of the period, and a gatling gun). In...More

Fort Concho is an Indian wars fort from after the civil war. It is the most completely restored and useable Fort of its kind. Many buildings and exhibits to enjoy.

Only a maybe average experience. This fort group would do well to take some lessons from Fort Stockton or Fort Laramie.

Extremely well preserved National Historic Fort. The stories that surround the fort about the ghosts who haunt it to the life of Henry O. Flipper will make you look around every corner. Authentic furnishings and living history exhibits during Christmas at Old Fort Concho. I...More

We loved the Fort Concho National Historical Site. Some well maintained original buildings, some with heavy duty refurbishment and some rebuilt. Shows a good cross-section of military like. Well worth a stop. Pay extra for the guided tour.
