Rising above the Aransas Bay and surrounded by stately live oaks, the Fulton Mansion is located in the resort area of Rockport-Fulton. The house must have appeared incredible in 1877 with its mansard roof and ornate trim. Interior gas lighting, flush-toilets, and other refinements were progressive and luxurious elements for this part of Texas. Today, visitors journey through the restored home, getting a glimpse into the life of an affluent family in the late 1800s. Learn about 19th century innovations, walk through Harriet's garden, and hear stories of living in a grand Victorian villa.

This is a beautiful renovated mansion with several items that are original to the home. The cost is $6.00 per adult and is the same price if you take the guided tour which we did. We found both of our guides to be very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. It was also interesting that they left one section on... More

If you like history then you really need to tour this old home on the bay in Fulton. Renovated in 2013 to its former grandeur, the home will amaze you with it's featured luxuries for the time. Make sure to go with the docent-led tour.

Wasn't so sure about visiting but sure glad we did. Even though we were too late for the guided tour we still were able to do a self guided tour which turned out to be guided anyway. The staff took us though the building as we were the only ones visiting at this time and they seemed to be happy... More

There are two tours daily and I'm glad I took the one hour tour. Many interesting and fun facts. There is also a cell phone tour so if you aren't there for a guided tour, go anyway. There were sheets for kids to do a kind of scavenger hunt; what a good idea so mom and dad can look while... More

Go to the visitors center first. The house is absolutely amazing! start at the basement. Don't rush your visit. Allow at least 45 minutes or more to enjoy all the furnishings, woodworking, and all the history of this mansion. We almost didn't go...we're glad we did!

Self-guided tour, with the audio tour you can get on your cell phone while you walk around (how cool is that?). The staff around the home were very helpful and informative. The restoration is great, including one unrestored room to give you an idea of it's former condition and how the house was constructed. Would very much recommend a leisurely... More

My wife is a retired history instructor so I knew she'd love this. Unfortunately we didn't do due diligence. We missed the afternoon tour by seconds, but that also meant we had a tour group we had to work around. We used the app for narration, but quickly realized we had not allotted sufficient time for our visit to listen... More

Guided tours of this attraction enhance the experience. Completely furnished with the original belongings of the Captain & his family. The construction of the mansion is detailed with many one of a kind techniques. The mansion features furniture, clothing and household items of the period. The bathroom is a must-see.

Great old mansion recently renovated. Great history lesson about the area. Small fee to tour the mansion that helps support the continuing conservation efforts. A definite must see if visiting the area. Very nice, personable and knowledgeable staff. I will go back next time in area.
