You can see the entire South Padre Island from atop this historic lighthouse, first lit in 1853. A replica of the lighthouse keeper's cottage is on the grounds.

I came here with my daughters and took the stairs all the way to the top. Just a heads up it could get a little claustrophobic since it is pretty narrow at the top. Also, we went during construction so the top does not open...More

Interesting and worth the stop but not your typical light house! Great shopping around the area which was more interesting to my crew than the lighthouse!

I like lighthouses but can no longer climb them so from the outside this wasn't a particularly impressive one.

If you can walk the stairs to the top of the Lighthouse, do so! ( It's a lot of stairs!) However, the view from the top is spectacular! We have done these stairs many times and it is well worth it just to look around...More

Smaller than I expected, with less stairs than I imagined, but if your afraid of heights...like I am...it's a great conquest & your rewarded with a great view from the top.

Went to this to see the history of the lighthouse. The balcony was closed however you can go up to the very top to see everything.
