Pretty even on cloudy day

Stopped here our first day exploring the area. Cloudy day with a bit of rain and it was still beautiful. There's access roads and a main entrance. Main has a fee. Guy let us go in... read more

From the get go we were disappointed. The service at check in was indifferent. No choice of sites. Price was a lot more than most state parks. The sites are tiny, as if you were in a parking lot. Site we were given had the shelter and table on the wrong side (and both were old and dirty). The park... More

Like others have mentioned, it's a long stretch of pristine, beautiful, natural beach. A lot of camp sites available but also great for shorter trips. Highly recommended!

My wife and I drove from the Dallas area to Mustang Island State Park and spent 7 glorious days camping on the sand close to the dunes. Beach camping is an experience not to be missed. We were there in early October, 2016. The Park is fronts on the gulf of mexico and also along the bay side of the... More

Stopped here our first day exploring the area. Cloudy day with a bit of rain and it was still beautiful. There's access roads and a main entrance. Main has a fee. Guy let us go in for a short bit since we didn't really know if we wanted to hang there so it was cool just to see.

Stayed here one time after getting blown off the beach by a tropical storm. We actually camped in an RV spot which provided a covered picnic table, electricity, Water, and near by shower and bathroom facility.

Mustang Island State Park is a beautiful beachfront facility on the Texas Gulf Coast. The park has 48 campsites with water and electric hookups and shower and bathroom facilities. With almost a mile of beach in the park and several miles of beach north and south, there are plenty of areas to enjoy the water. There are small pergolas with... More

Spending a Sunday afternoon on the beach at this park was quite relaxing. It was pretty quiet with not a lot of vehicle traffic and there's a jetty made of rocks for those who like to fish. So it was the best of both worlds, since I just wanted to listen to the waves and relax but my husband wanted... More

Much prettier beach than port aransas. We went for the day but you can camp as well which seemed hot in august but many people were doing it, there also is not much oil from the oil spill on this beach compared to others in area.

Beautiful place! Be prepared for high winds though - especially if tent camping! Exhibits by UT oceanography were cool too!

It was quiet at night an beautiful. Unfortunately most of the day visitors do not go to the day picnic area, they drive onto the beach in the overnight primitive campsites. But as they clear out it is really nice. Bathrooms are porta-potties for most of the park, there are full facilities near the RV camping. There is full power... More
