Sights and sounds at Shangri La are special! 250 acres of true nature in the big middle of Orange, Tx. Staff and volunteers are most knowledgeable. Need hep? Got a question? They are Johnny on the spot. We have been members for many years. Shangri La experience NEVER gets old. We are especially attracted to the boating adventure down the... More

A definite hidden gem in Texas! The gardens were beautiful with so many native flowers. The whole garden is well manicured but yet natural. Sitting in the bird blind watching a multitude of birds was interesting! Be sure to check boat tour to explore a bayou with huge Cypress trees and many critters! We even saw an alligator! Very child... More

A really enjoyable place to visit. We were there on a Tuesday morning, and there were more gardeners there than visitors. Very peaceful and serene. There were not many plants in bloom due to the season, except in the greenhouses. We learned about the history of the gardens and it's owner during a short tour and video to begin with.... More

The walk thru at Christmas is second to none! They go all out for kids and adults. If your in town, this is a must see for the whole family. I have kids that range from 17 to 8, and all enjoy the lights.. The spring time! I can't say enough. You might see a gator or two on Adam's... More

Beautiful and very well-maintained. For myself and a small child, we only paid $8 to get in, what a bargain. There were friendly ladies at the entrance (volunteers?) eager and willing to tell you about the gardens. The best part was bird watching. Great to see the habitat without a long hike. But my kid was impressed by the red-faced... More

The gardens are grand; however, we missed the Azaleas blooming! So, we were very disappointed. We walked throughout the grounds; so, we got exercise at least. There were very few flowers to see.

I had no clue this even existed, it was by chance outing we over heard other people talking about it and tagged along. Beautiful I don't have a green thumb but it's okay their Grounds fit the bill and didn't Disappoint.

This was our first visit to the gardens and we enjoyed the stroll at night with all the decorations and lights around. The parking lot was packed but the gardens didn't seem crowded. It was a very family friendly atmosphere but we also enjoyed it as a couple. We plan to return during the Spring to see the gardens in... More
