We drove about 3 hours in for a short two day trip. If you are looking for a hill country small town to visit for a few days, New Braunfels is a great choice. Lots of tourist shopping, hotels, restaurants, German style bakeries and excellent for walking around.

enjoyed a morning looking at all the shops. Some really interesting shops, pottery, wood working, antiques awesome. The main old building is just stuffed with antiques and things. You could probably spend 2-3 hours looking at all the stuff in this store. We were there as the shops opened, by lunch time the places were just hopping. Great time spend... More

It is a great town of antique shops, cafes and history. If you are like me and hate the traffic in San Antonio stay here for restful nights and quiet town with a lot to do. Equal distance to San Marcos or San Antonio sequin, etc... great place to stay for the bi annual antique shows at round top.

My husband and I love New Braunfels' German heritage and take advantage of it often. Sometimes we drive there from Wimberley for a fabulous and romantic dinner or we just decide to sight see. Drive to enjoy the water in Landa Park or mosey on over to the Gruene historic district. It can be a relaxing day trip in the... More

While this town gets CRAZY busy during the summer months, it's still one of my favorite places to be. Good food, good music, good shopping, and friendly faces all around ... doesn't get much better!

Stroll through New Braunfels. The town has a nice historic district and places to eat. We spent an hour in the antique mall downtown and it was a fun experience in a well-kept atmosphere.

New Braunfels is a great city to visit and to live. NB offers many areas to shop and recreate, and many restaurants to enjoy, The rivers are awesome, the parks, and most of all the people are friendly and welcoming.

New Braunfels is a beautiful city with boutique shops, antique shops and this really great bakery just off the roundabout. The art work in the gallery is pleasing and relatively affordable. The children museum, train museum and firefighters museums and Buy and paint ceramic shop add to the interest of this town. The architecture of the courthouse, square is photo... More

It's bustling on I-35. You can find serious traffic, serious shopping, and fast or leisurely eats. Find the town square, and you've stumbled into all that defines a friendly, little Texas town.
