Really good set-up for the very young ones and first timers. They are in fairly large groups so for improvers it may not be the best option. The instructors all speak decent English and are really good with the kids. They have lifts inside the cordoned off area which is great as there is no pressure on the kids.

This really wasn't a great experience. We were a group of four families with eight kids between us, the eldest 9 and the youngest 5. The place was heaving and probably fine if you were a French speaking kid, but not much fun for English speakers. My two kids are pretty feisty and coped ok but didn't want to go... More

We only booked our trip 5 days before departure so were some what limited with choices of available ski lessons for the Easter holidays with some of the smaller English providers of ski lessons. I was a little dubious about booking an 'en mass' French ski school as I worried about it being a little impersonal, particularly for my only... More

Our 10 year old was challenged and enjoyed the week, her instructor with a group of 10 was thoughtful and spoke good English. Our 6 year old had a miserable week, despite booking for English instruction the 'monitor' spoke very little English and when challenged suggested there were several nationalities in the group of thirteen 5-6 year olds (all the... My son's instructor was great and he really enjoyed it, evidenced by his enthusiasm to ski with me in the afternoons (morning only lessons for my 7 year old). He made really good progress in terms of control and confidence so couldn't have asked for more. Other families in our group had brilliant experiences too, though some were left feeling... More

It is our second time in Avoriaz with 4 and 6 year olds. We were super impressed by how kids friendly the resort was and how the ski schools were set up. This time around we put our two children in le Village des Enfants ski school, which had great and friendly instructors, who really worked with the kids and... More

I spent a week with my kids in Avoriaz. Beside the perfect atmosphere of this car less ski resort, I really appreciate the welcome for my young kids provided by the charming "Pépette". After one week, my kids were able to ski without drama. It was one of the nicest week I've ever had. Once again I will never forget... More

We put our three year old into morning lessons, and were impressed with the staff and facilities on offer. The teacher was experienced working with young children (eg had loads of tissues in her pockets for runny noses!) We were there during UK half term and our son was in an English-speaking class of about 8 kids. The lessons for... More

After having a bad experience in the past with the group lessons (individual is a different story) with the market leader in the French Alps (you know who I'm talking about!) we decided to try the Village des Enfants for our 2nd child aged 3. It looks like complete madness every morning, so many kids, parents and teachers but it... More

We have chosen this school for our 5-year daughter, believing this is a school with special approach/method to kids, as advertised on their website. Just marketing, we were not at all impressed, neither with the quality of the instructors nor their methods. I explained the first day that my daughter is skiing for the first time and she needs attention... More
