Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Activity included in the multipass. The place is attractive, the staff is pleasant but the hygiene needs to be reviewed.
Too many people go swimming dressed, with clothes they had outside.
The regulations are almost non-existent, the staff is certainly not there to act as a "policeman" but as a result we have seen a lot of nonsense including vaping inside. The swimming pool is over-chlorinated to compensate, it burns the eyes and clothes.

Bonjour,

We visited the Aquariaz on a really miserable day that was not good for skiing. We, and every other family in Avoriaz. The facilities were clean and enjoyable. Activities for mixed age ranges and easily passed an hour or two. Price was average for swimming. The showers weren’t great and they should probably limit entry numbers during these peak periods however it was a good family activity.

Hello,
Thank you for your message.
The Aquariaz is a human-sized establishment with various facilities and activities (paddling pool filled with water games , a space with 2 slides, waterfalls, 2 pools, a climbing wall, waterfalls, a slow current river and 3 jacuzzis including 1 outside).
As you saw, It happens in bad weather and during school holidays that the Aquariaz reaches its maximum capacity. During those times, we recommend to check the affluence of the swimming pool on our website (avoriaz.com) before going.
We wish you all the best and hope to see you again in Avoriaz ! :)

It’s a small waterpark but really good for smaller children, our 16 year old was a bit bored.
I want to warn anyone driving you need to park at the bottom and it’s about a 10 minute to the swimming baths. This was not made clear anywhere, there is. I parking close by anywhere.
I believe the lift is also about 10-15 minute walk. Also it’s not clearly signposted but head for the trampolines and it’s opposite.
If you have ever been to centre parcs it’s very similar to them.
Expect to queue on rainy days.
It’s free with a multi pass august 2023

Hello,
Thank you very much for your comment. Avoriaz is a pedestrian resort, it's why Aquariaz is accessible by walking only.
Glad you enjoyed and hope to see you soon in Aquariaz !

We were very surprised by the quality of the service offered for the price.
The tropical side with the snow falling outside is great.
The area for the little ones is very well designed, even our parents enjoyed playing the water games, I was also surprised to find a thrilling slide.
The outdoor jacuzzi is really great.
The price is reasonable, we pay 10€ for our municipal swimming pool which has absolutely nothing to envy of the Aquariaz, so 12€ for all that, and also a lot of lifeguards.
We went there when it wasn't too crowded, apart from the possibility that it was too crowded, I don't understand the negative reviews.
On the other hand, be careful the photos offered are cool, on the other hand we recovered all the photos of the tourists of the week probably on our email 😅
Thank you for these good times

We’ve been to Avoriaz 5 times now and go to Aquariaz several times each stay and it’s always fantastic. Lots of a fun, great atmosphere and always friendly staff. A must if you’re staying with children young or old.

What a disappointment! Only the decor is tropical... we were cold all afternoon, the water posted at 28 and yet everyone was frozen 🥶🥶🥶, we ended up sitting in the paddling pool trying to warm up! The tropical atmosphere should be much warmer! Fortunately the children did some buoy tricks it saved the afternoon!

Bonjour,

This is a pleasant aquatic center on a human scale. On this cloudy afternoon we went for a look and had a nice time. The river takes you from pool to pool, bubbles for hydromassage, jets to relax your neck and back, slide with buoy (solo or duo), and well-maintained changing rooms.

We visited Aquariaz twice and had completely different experiences.
We first visited on Sunday evening at 6pm. We deliberately went late to avoid the crowd. It was perfect. I think there were less than 30 people there. For the last hour we were almost there on our own. We could go on what we wanted without queues. It was great.
We visited again on the Monday around the same time and it was a completely different experience. There were lots and lots of people. Families, teenage groups and some young adults . There were long queues for everything. It was not enjoyable. Given the price I don't think it is good value for money.
I was worried by the comments that the water is freezing. It is 30 degrees. It is not warm but I would not say it is cold. It is the same temperature as a normal pool. The jacuzzi is warmer. It was fine as is. It was busy but there is a good turn around and we never had problem finding a seat.
The half pipe is good. You do it in a single or double inflatable. On the first night we had over 10 goes. There was either no queue or just one person. This is fun.
The kiddie water park is extensive. The water is warmer than the main pool.
The lazy river is fun. There are bubble pools for 8 to 10 people along the route.
The climbing wall is not for climbing vertically. It is a means to get to the tarzan swing. It is fun. Makes it challenging.
If it is not buzy, it is great fun. Given that there are a lot of comments about this place being cold, if it is that cold, it won't be that busy. The temperature must be ok.
My rating is based on both visits. The first visit I would give it 5 stars. For the second visit 2-3 stars because it was really busy.
I would say it is worth a visit especially if you have kids. Maybe you can peek through the window and see if it is busy before paying for entry.

Tried to visit early to mid March. The building is surrounded by high temporary fencing with warning signs. There are large “closed” notices on the windows by the entrance. We asked our apartment reception desk when it was due to open and they explained it was shut due to the roof “starting to fall in”. Not expected to open again during Winter 2018 season - hopefully open for Summer 2018 season.

We went Aquariaz on a rainy day in August. It was very busy and there was only one person at the cash desk so we had quite a wait to even get in. It cost €31 for 2 adults and 3 kids (4,6,7) - so very reasonable.
The changing area was clean. The pool area is small and feels very cramped. The main pool, which has a lazy river, is 1.2 m throughout so it was too deep for all of our boys. This is the area that also has the rock climbling/tarzan rope feature which is designed for young kids! So while our youngest wore arm bands, the older two who can swim a width or so unaided, very reluctantly wore life jackets that were available. However, even though they were size 'S' they were too big for them and very clumsy so after a while (when they saw nobody else wearing them!) they refused to wear them so we needed eyes at the back of our heads to keep and eye on them. Definitely you would need one adult per young child in main pool and lazy river as they can be pulled along and lost among other swimmers etc.I only saw one lifeguard for the whole of the main pool, which twists and turns behind rocks and plants so he couldn't possibly have been able to see the whole area! There was a sign saying 450 capacity at the complex - and only one lifeguard (who seemed to me to be day dreaming)!
There was a great adrenaline pumping slide / ride for over 6's. Dad and the boys really enjoyed that although there was a queue for the inflatable tyre thingy's and people kept trying to skip the queue!
The small kiddies pool / slide / water canon area etc was fun for <5 year old's but everything is packed into a small corner and feels very cramped.
Overall, we'd a fairly good time there and would return - but not until the kids are 1.2m -so the parents can relax a bit too and actually enjoy it!!

Yes - swimming shorts are explicitly allowed. There are a number of (reasonable) rules around dress - but provided they are swimming shorts and clean I can’t see if there would be any issue. Certainly 80% of men were wearing them last week.
