I spent the week in a lovely cottage over looking the beach and it is a lovely quiet place for a holiday. Walking, bird watching or just getting away from it all.

As others have previously said Kiloran is a Scottish icon and a photographer's dream especially when the sun shines which hasn't been too often this year. I was lucky on my visit this year and saw it in all its sunbathed glory before the weather...More

Beautiful spot well worth a visit. There is chance you could get cut off if you don’t watch the tide. We took Wellington boots as there is a small steam you may want to cross to extend the walk.

Colonsay is a gorgeous island and Kiloran is a jewel. Beautiful golden sands, blue waters, cows and sheep providing company. The beach is gently shelving and enclosed - good for families as long as you supervise accordingly - this is a remote island, no lifeguards...More

Well worth a short drive and walk, but be aware of the so called river to cross in getting to the beach. Park a couple of hundred yards before the recognised " car park", just drive through the gate at the bend of the road...More

Kiloran bay is THE iconic Colonsay beach. A sweeping arc of golden sand, fringed by machair dunes on one side and crashing Atlantic breakers on the other, it is dominated by the distinctively rugged peak of Carnan Eoin - where golden eagles can sometimes be...More

This beach is located at the end of the public road on northwest Colonsay. It is a must-visit and has tremendous views out to sea. Lovely white sand. Great place to go for a walk and just chill-out.

Going to Oronsay by car is very difficult and as it is a a RSPB reserve cars would be unlikely allowed . The track across to the island is very difficult and could be dangerous as the tide comes in very quickly
