We visited in early Autumn but the views were still stunning. We saw a Golden eagle over the cliffs at the end of the beach. We enjoyed a walk over the headland to see "the Whale" and saw goats and lots of small birds before reaching the standing stone at the top of the cliffs. There are no toilet facilities!

This is very beautiful but Colonsay is very remote (200-ish inhabitants). We only visited for the day as we were staying on Islay and so Colonsay is a bit too remote for me. My 2 companions however would visit again. I would visit Islay again though

A real calendar picture, even when the sun is not shining. Beautiful clean sands and turquoise water. Tropical apart from the temperature. Be prepared for no facilities.

Just amazing , now one of my favourite places on the planet. Amazing views and very unspoilt location. Spent many happy afternoons here, great for families, safe for young children and you don't have to fight for a space to stretch out your blanket.

Lovely bay of golden sand and blue sea, with surfers, sand castles and highland cattle sitting by the freshwater stream. We sat on a bench overlooking the bay, dedicated to a deceased vicar " who loved God and his creations", his creations are on fine display throughout this lovely island.

This is a stunning beach with a huge expanse of golden sands and beautiful blue water. It is so peaceful and a great place to take children where they have so much freedom to run around and paddle in the clear water.

From a map in the Scotsman of Scotlands best beaches Kiloran was one of them so I came to visit for the day from Islay but I did not leave enough time to appreciate it as the tide was right in the morning to visit Oransay. It is a place to sit and be at peace or a place for... More

Lovely beach with extensive dunes and walks running north to even more beachs. Sunshine or rain - still lovely
