The McAllen Public Library opened on December 10th., 2011. It was an old Wal-Mart....and they designed a beautiful library from the store's shell. It has a auditorium for programs and speakers. A place to bring the children, as their library is outstanding.

It was a nice, classy atmosphere, but the selection was lacking. The service was fine, but could've been better. All in all, it was okay.

Excellent facilities at the library. Theres a nice play area, a study area and computer access for children of all ages. Everyone has something or the other to do. It's a must go. We visit quite often.

The water fountain outside is a treat! The used book store inside is where I go once a month. There is an offering of many great and current books at affordable prices. The cafe offers a nice selection of drinks and food.

It's nice to find a new surprise in this place. Among the collection of books they also have a very vast and entertaining collection of movies and music. I enjoy the study room that's very quiet when you truly need to be away from distraction....More
