A one-hour tour of one of Jefferson's most historic - and haunted - locations. The Grove is an 1861 home that uniquely mirrors the history of the riverport city... and the ghost stories there go back over 100 years. The history of the home is fascinating; it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. Along with the history, though, you'll hear ghost stories from the owners and find out just what it's like to live in a haunted home. Come visit The Grove for a peek into Jefferson's past... and a few residents who may still be hanging around!

It's very nice of the owners of this "most haunted house in Texas" to open up their home to the public for these tours. The history of the home is fascinating, and the local author who leads the tour does a great job spinning the stories. We didn't see anything out of the ordinary while we were there, but we... More

Our host/tour guide, who lives in the house, was very engaging and extremely entertaining. He is an excellent storyteller and did a great job of painting the picture of life in the 1800's. Very good value for only $6.00!

We took the 1:00 PM tour on a Saturday. The house was charmingly maintained and decorated with lovely antiques, some dating back to the 1700s. The owner took us through the history of several rooms and included multiple accounts of ghostly activity that occurred here. He may have been a bit too focused on the "only good spirits" hauntings, but... More

A long walk but worth it! Very spooky! The tour guide was awesome. Very knowledgable of the history of the place. I even had a little ghostly experience myself. High recommend tho Is tour especially for ghost hunters and history buffs.

The owner's of the Grove graciously open their home for tours. They give a lot of history about the previous owners and previous sightings. We didn't see any ghosts on our tour, but didn't really expect to (don't really believe in them). It was fun seeing the furnishings (very period), and hearing all the history.

The first words out of our tour guides mouth were "I'm sorry you get me instead of my husband." I think Tammy sold herself short because I thought she did an amazing job of story telling & providing information. The tour was $6 per person, it lasted just over an hour, and was packed full of history. You could feel... More

The Grove's owners are full of historical information, not only about their beautiful home, but Jefferson. Mr. Whitington was a most gracious guide & very pleasant to listen & learn from. We thoroughly enjoyed to tour & have many of his books!
