I was at this park to take part in a 50 mile race. The trails are just gorgeous and well marked, and some lovely views.

Camped here twice, once in covered shelter spot, once in heated shelter spot. Both were great. Clean bathrooms (no kidding!) beautiful campsites on the lake. Friendly staff. Trails well marked. Great facilities for groups.

Great outdoors is close to civilization. Rangers helpful as are other staff and volunteers. Amazing trails to roam by hundreds of miles. Water sports, trails and camping to your heart's content.

We had visited during winter where it was much quieter though the weather was perfect. You can spend a whole day here and relax. You can rent a canoe and/or paddle boards and walk trails with options of how long you want to hike. Some of the trails are mountain bike friendly. It's a very peaceful environment.

Tall oak trees, luscious vegetation. We live in Houston- so its more like camping in your back yard Camping was decent but not "special". My biggest complaint- was that camp spots were on a the park's main busy street- my kids had a hard time riding bikes because of my fear of them getting ran over by fast truck driving... More

One of the nicest places I saw while visiting Texas. Lots to see in the park that we wish we could have enjoyed. The Lodge is gorgeous with beautiful views, including boaters and alligators. The Lodge was great for a small family wedding (side note, could benefit from dimmer switches on the lighting). Beautiful place!

I have lived in the Huntsville area since 1976. It never amazes me what a beautiful place this is to go hiking around, swimming, canoeing and kayaking. Great areas for daily picnics and overnight camping. They also have a pavilion that you can rent that is great for parties and weddings. Just love to go there once a week to... More

Went here for an afternoon walk as the weather was nice. The car parks were very busy and there were a lot of people enjoying the sunshine. Although it was busy there it was still very quiet and peaceful, I was surprised how quiet. Some people were fishing others having a bbq. We enjoyed the trails as did others. It... More

Being that I am a TPWD employee, I am biased. The staff was so welcoming, the facilities were beautiful and kayaking on the lake was incredibly fun.
