Booked tee time online for a Wednesday, called pro shop and moved to Monday morning due to scheduling issues. Would have been good to know the kitchen wasn't open on Mondays and the front nine was being aerated so we had to play back nine twice to get in 18. No green fee discount offered for suboptimal conditions. That being... More

Very nice course, even when you are playing it forward compared to the pros. The course is in excellent condition. Good sized range. They require you get a forecaddie if you are not a member, I guess for pace of play, but it is added cost.

It was a very good test for all skill levels of golfers. Was very windy so it made the long par 4 holes a real challenge. The Shell Houston Open was recently held here so the grounds were still being "dismantled". If you are traveling to Houston and have time for a round of golf, it is worrh the trip.... More

Loved the course! Even though I'm a "golfer in training" and lost 10 balls! You have to have a caddy.. But no one goes into the foliage, snakes!

Every summer a buddy and I take a baseball/golf vacation and this year Texas was our destination. We have played some of the best courses in the country, Pebble Beach,Spy Glass,Firestone, Oakmont, Whistling Straits and many others that have hosted PGA Tourneys and Major Golf Tourneys. While in Texas this year we thought it would be fun to play the... More

Dear Trume3, We are extremely sorry you had a bad experience at Golf Club of Houston. In your case we dropped the ball in alerting you in advance to the course conditions on the Tournament Course. It is expertly manicured and fun to play. Obviously it is on of the best in Houston. It is surprisingly not as difficult as I expected.

This is a great golf course, and will test you plenty on almost every hole. What I don't realize seeing it on TV during the Shell Open, is how much forest is around it, even driving to some tee boxes through the jungle can be an adventure. With that come bugs, which this course has plenty of, so bring the... More

Since the Golf Club of Houston acquired the facility from Redstone it no longer welcomes the public in the dinning room. It is still a wonderful facility and both the championship and member courses are excellent places to play golf. I just wish I could afford a membership.

I was very excited to play this PGA course!! Upon arrival I smelled a strong odor. I wish I knew before paying that this course is in close proximity to a landfill. Unfortunately my afternoon I played golf and smelled stinky garbage...disgusting. I don't know how residence can live with foul odor!

Very nice menu, bar services are excellent, staff is extremely nice and helpful. While I am not a golfer, it is certainly nice to relax and catch up with collegues in an environment other than the office or a loud bar. We certainly enjoy the time we spend at Redstone.
