7/19/14 Went watch Tony Vega band and when I ordered a double rum shot for the coca cola for one of our guest, I tasted the drink because she said it tasted like nothing. I tasted what was in the shot glass it was water. I went to the owner and he said get out. So my suggestion at this... More

We love coming to The Big Easy when we are in Houston. It isn't fancy (that's an understatement). It doesn't have lots of room. It isn't even all that clean...sorry but it's the truth. But it is guaranteed to be fun! It has great blues, jazz, and zydeco music depending on which night you show up. Some bands are local,... More

Went to "The Big Easy" to hear blues guitarist Alan Haynes the other night. It is a small bar, where locals hang out, not a "dress up" place, but a good old down to earth "dive" style bar. A little scary to see on the outside, but don't judge a book by its cover. Drinks are cheap, a few pool... More

Tell 'em T sent ya! If you are looking for a Blues venue in Houston, look no farther than this legendary blues hall of fame, and a place where the spirit of many long lost blues artists remain. Texas Blues artists? you name them, they have played the Big Easy. The owner, Tom, is a great harp player, and is... More

Located on Kirby near Robin Hood St. it's perfect for the traveler to locate. The parking is limited and you might have to park on a sidestreet if you don't get there early. The configuration of the club inside is rather strange but your typical blues bar. There were more patrons than places to sit by 10pm on a Saturday... More

The Big Easy has gotta be the best place for blues and zydeco in the Houston area. And that’s saying a lot! Tom, the owner, is extremely hospitable, and the bartenders and wait folks are truly outstanding. When you look at the place from the outside, your first impression may be, “What a dump!”. But when you get inside you... More

If you love blues music & dancing, go to this funky little place on Kirby St. Consistanly good bands (Alan Haynes a local favorite) plays there the last Sat of every month, which is why we came to Houston. Get there early as the tables fill up QUICK. Standing room only by the time the bands start. There's nothing fancy... More
