Lots of different types and varieties. Always watch where you step so you don't accidentally step on a butterfly on the ground. I like checking out the hatchery thing to see if any butterflies are breaking out of their pupae yet.

This is a great attachment to the Museum of Natural Science - my favorite part in fact. It can be visited on a standalone basis, or in conjunction with a visit to the larger museum and/or the planetarium. Make sure to visit the Park all...More

Very nice butterfly house! Show your AAA card for huge discount on admission tickets. Not as hot as others we've visited. Temp was around 80 degrees inside.

A delightful way to spend time enjoying the butterflies as they fly throughout the center. You are in a rainforest like setting that adds to the interest.

A glass atrium filled with thousands of butterflies. I don't know how many species but I'd guess near 100. It can get hot in the summer but I always find it to be an easy nearby adventure.

This was a real highlight of my trip to Houston. The butterflies are beautiful. You can just pay for the butterfly exhibit if you don’t have time to tour the museum.

Among the top exhibitions of lepidoptera in the country. A rainbow of species in an approachable and visible, educational vessel. Well worth the time and the effort.
