Modern interpretation of a neo-classical house that grew into a museum for a private collection. Interesting to me to see how these collections grow over time and the interest of the collectors displayed.

I go here with my girlfriend sometimes to get out of the claustrophobic city feel. The art statues and gardens are great for a peaceful vibe. We like to Instapark a spot nearby so we can explore all day!

Enjoyed the tour of the home, but the gardens are very small and parts remain off limits due to damage from the flood. Would recommend for older children, or teenagers, as it is a guided tour, so moving at your on pace is not allowed,...More

The house is relatively modern but filled with antiques. The tour is good and there are some interesting pieces. I enjoyed it but understand the comments I have read - will appeal to some but not all. It's free so you have nothing to lose.

We were basically unimpressed with this museum. We didn't find the house itself interesting architecturally, nor were the grounds impressive to us. While there were a few items that were attractive or interesting, mostly the whole thing left us totally underwhelmed. Since the couple who...More

We took the home tour and was in awe with how beautiful the inside of this home is! The family had impeccable taste for antiques and for the way they entertained guests. For the tour you are required to leave your purse in a locker....More

The Rienzi does not have a home (or gardens) as large as Bayou Bend but it is definitely worth visiting. Unlike Bayou Bend, however, this home turned museum still has the furniture and art that was enjoyed by its residents while they lived in the...More
