I stayed at the Hotel ZaZa and walked to the Museum of Natural Science and also the Museum of Fine Arts. I hope to return to see things I missed the first time at the Science Museum, such as the planetarium and IMAX, and also take in the zoo.

Saw the Czech museum, sculpture garden, and the "Who knows what" museum. It had a "Printer Repundzel" that had spewed copied pages from the second story window. Medias varied from geographical maps pasted on toothpick like struts, videos, stuffed animals, paintings of various kinds, very unique! Also the painted art car museum, which is really an off-the wall cars. Very... More

I wish I could give this idea 6 stars, or even 10! One of the best city planning ideas I've ever seen, to put all the museums in a generally similar area. As tough as parking is in any downtown area, it's great to have all the museums within walking distance, with resting areas and cafes within walking distance as... More

If you are a museum fanatic then here is the place for you. It's clean and has restaurants around. Most of all the area is safe with lots of trains and public buses/ hop on hop off buses. About 20 museums are located in thw district and some are free . One can go hopping from one museum to the... More

Parking is difficult so it's nice to be able to walk from one museum to another. Museums themselves are of excellent quality. The art museum is free on Thursday afternoons and stays open late.

Any day in the museum district is a great day! We spent the day browsing through the Museum of Fine Arts and a lite lunch in the recently renovated cafe. It was a great way to spend a lazy Sunday. A must for anyone visiting Houston or a regular spot for natives. I have been a member of the museums... More

The Museum District is a safe and friendly neighbourhood which houses some 20 cultural institutions. Excellent for walking from one institution to the other with interesting restaurants and cafes. It attracts visitors of all ages to learn about art, history, culture, and nature. Some of the Museums are free every day -at dedicated times-.

I have been all over the world and never have I seen a better grouping of museums that you can walk to. I think there were over 20 easy to get to and really diverse types of museums. I could have spent all week there. Lots of interesting restuarants too!!

Wanted to spend some time outside so it was great walking from museum to museum. Very interesting collections to view and many are free, above all the Menil collection. Parking was not difficult. A must see in Houston.

Houston MFA, Museum of Science, Menil Collection and Rothko Chapel in immediate area. Zaza Hotel is a 5-star treat. Quiet shaded streets.
