Great Mardi Gras parade thru town! Awesome shrimp festival. Plenty of shrimp and great band. Had a lot of fun dancing and great environment for the grandchildren! It was a great weekend visit from Bixby OK. Will definitely plan a visit next year for the celebration.

17,000 plus acres of Water Surface, 310 Miles of Shoreline and some of the clearest water, for a lake, you'll ever see. 110' Water depths as The Brazos River cut it's way through the Palo Pinto Mountain Range. This is most definitely one of the best kept secrets Texas has. Come on out and see us!

very nice hiking trails lead through brush and grass land, to nice vista points and beaches. No serious inclines or difficulties. 16 miles total in several segments, well marked and with good map displays and distance markers at the trail heads off route #2951 on the peninsula. Look at possumkingdomlake website for maps and details.

The water near the dam is very clear and cool. As you get farther North, the water gets muddy. Saw fish jumping everywhere. September is off season so not busy at all. Anchored off in Hells Gate and it was very relaxing and pleasant being in the water.

Possum lake is beautiful and there are many things to do in the area. We stayed in Mineral Wells and drove out to the canoe hire place. It was perfect. It's incredibly hot in August which is lovely but on the water at 3 is quite sweltering. You can swim though.

What a beautiful way to spend the day with the family. Possum Kingdom Lake is less than 2 hours from our home in Arlington, TX. The drive is nice and scenic once you get off of I-20. There are so many different options for fun. Swimming, Boating, Jet Ski Rentals, Camping, Fishing and Sun Bathing are just a few to... More

View from the resort and boat was nice, but water was brown throughout like Texoma. Had hopes that it's blue based on Google images, but I think what made them so was the reflection of the sky. Not worth the 2.5-3 hour drive from Dallas since we have lakes closer to home.

My wife and I were staying in Mineral Wells for business. We decided to drive up to the lake to look around one evening. We found a nice little bar/grill to grab a burger and enjoyed our time driving around the bends of the lake. We saw road runners and tons of deer. Lots of boats on the water. We... More

PK has numerous budget levels for all. From Sky Camp and others in the vicinity on the North end for big families (only my opinion) to South end where all the higher budget places typically are located. Lake life is for the experienced so I highly recommend looking at partial day rentals if you want some boating fun or if... More

My favorite place is PK Friday's can never come fast enough. I spend almost every weekend at my Lakehouse to get away. You will see lots of wildlife Deere, Turkey. So many fun things to do and see.
