We went to Glen Rose to see these Dino tracks. We went the Saturday before Easter and even though there was a good many people, it was not super crowded. The day was perfect. The water was nice and cold and clear. The Dinosaur tracks...More

We really enjoyed hiking around the trails and looking at the tracks. One area was underwater so we couldn't find it and another required crossing the river, so older people and young kids might not be able to access that one. But there were other...More

Viewing 113 million year old dinosaur tracks is only the tip of the iceberg. Fly fishing is free with admission and picnic areas are well maintained. There are campsites aplenty also. This makes for a really relaxing, informative, and enjoyable day.

We were not sure what to expect of this place, and this was not the primary reason we visited Glen Rose, however we had time and we decided to go and visit the place. The admission is not very costly and the place is well...More

We enjoyed our weekend RV trip to the park Feb 10 ,2017. The weather was beautiful and the hiking trails were not crowded. Great views of the scenic area from several places along the trails. My daughter and I especially enjoyed wading in the river...More

We have been here several times and still have not seen most of the park. There are many different trails you can hike and tracks to be seen. They have roped off some of the areas where there are prints. Prepare to get wet as...More

This was a very unexpected and pleasant thing to do during an two day stay in the area that gave us a few extra hours to do stuff. It was $14 for 2 adults in a car, well mapped, different intensity activities, I saw a...More

Love Dinosaur Valley SP. Its big enough to do a lot of hiking, or you can just walk along the river. Be sure you take some water shoes along, or at least something you don't mind getting wet as you have to jump across stones...More

My 5 year old loved looking for prints. When the water is low you can hike along the beach area and find tracks in the shallow parts of the water and the rocky beach areas. They give you maps to find the popular spots, but...More

This is an amazing State Park! How can you complain when there are real dinosaur footprints that you can go and not only see, but touch and step right into? There is no yellow rope, no glass case... you just search for the impressions in...More

When I was there it was winter but the water level was pretty low. I imagine there are areas to kayak but I don't think it's by the tracks. The tracks are accessible by walking. The only difficulty was crossing the creek on... More
Shoes... I know you have to wade through water and do a good amount of walking. What would be the best shoes? Nikes? Water shoes?

I wear Chacos. They're on the American Podiatry's top ten best shoes list, they have thick comfortable soles that you can walk on all day - I've done a 7 mile hike in them, and they dry quickly.
