The port was easy to get through, there were a lot of people going to the same place but it was pretty much effortless. We took the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas 7 day cruise to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. The staff and...More

We used the port parking while we went on a Carnival cruise. We didn't have to wait in a long line to pay. We were directed to our spot which was very tight. I had to sit and wait for the car load next to...More

The port itself was easy to use. The parking and cruise boarding process were a bit tricky. We used Light House parking and were pleased.

Oh the sad little port of Galveston. Looks like the inside of a military barracks. Efficiency? none. There are two scheduled cruise ships that depart and arrive at the same time, one Carnival and on Royal Caribbean. This little port does not have the capacity...More

Galveston was great, it is beautiful down there and having the ocean on both sides of you with two different beach options was great. Very clean and nice people. Plenty of parking or so we felt like there was. A lot of places to visit...More

Went there to board a cruise ship. They were very efficient, handling the thousands who show up in cars, vans, taxis and busses. Workers are hard working, but pleasant. After the cruise, vans took us to the parking lots. They really hustled to get us...More

This was my second time cruising out of Galveston. The embarkation experience was much more efficient this time. From arriving at the port to getting on the ship was less than 30 minutes.

We had to go through customs before leaving the ship and spent over a hour in line. Then when we got outside thinking we were going to get a taxi quickly, there was a long line waiting for taxis with none in sight and spent...More

Our group recently sailed the Liberty of the Seas and had a great experience on the ship but horrible experience getting on and off the ship. Clearly this port is not capable of handling two large ships at the same time. We sat in traffic...More

Only passed through here to get on a ship for a 7 day cruise. Really didn't see much of the town or spend any time here, but we were able to fly into Houston, then catch a ride to the port for departure. It was...More

Cruising back-to-back on Carnival in February. Driving personal vehicle. Any suggestions on clean, safe place to stay prior to cruise and what about parking locations, fees, etc? Your thoughts will be appreciated!

Yeah there is off site parking that will shuttle you to the ship. But I'd park right at the Port. Like $10.00 a day

Since Uber isn't allowed in Galveston (boo!!!), your best bet will be a cab. But - definitely, the hotel may have shuttle. Many of them do. Safe travels!
