Great to see the preservation of all the old houses and architecture. The rich always live differently. And now 80 years later you get to see how the rich lived back in those days.

The Historic quarter is quite small and best explored on foot. I was very surprised at the quality of the houses which are numerous and have beautiful gardens. Some of the houses are a little quirky which adds to the overall experience. Well worth visiting.

We admired the various homes and buildings along Broadway during our recent stay in Galveston. Those that admire architecture should park off of Broadway and have a look around.

So many homes have been refurbished, and they are just lovely. Get a map of the trees damaged in the hurricane that have been carved with chainsaws, etc. into really cool things.
