We went here at Christmas time. There was so many families having picnics and fishing. We went to tour the submarine and ship. Very economical activity. Enjoyed walking around in the beautiful weather. Were lucky enough to watch a cruise ship come in to port....More

Being a Cold War submariner, my wife suggested we go to Seawolf Park when we were in Galveston. I was glad that she did. Touring both the "skimmer" and diesel boat really took me back. Looking at the dive station, I know that I could...More

Interesting and gives you a chance to go into a submarine. Easy to find because it is at the end of the main road on Pelican Island.

I really liked the idea you toured it on your own. Stay a little or stay a long time, go at your own pace and you are able to read and look at the pictures. It is clean and safe and guarded and a really...More

Not well laid out. Need directions for touring DE. Very nice park with statistics for sub Mariner deaths during WWII.More

Marsha, Thank you for visiting the American Undersea Warfare Center at Seawolf Park. You are correct on the DE self-tour directions. Instead of re-doing current signage and painting, we have contracted for a new phone app to guide you through both the ship and sub,...More

Not an abundance of shade in the park and the ships themselves are not well ventilated or cooled. However, on a cooler day, this is a fun activity.More

KS1019, Thank you for visiting the American Undersea Warfare Center. I am sorry that you didn't feel the cool air from our 3 new air conditioners in the USS Cavalla, nor the cool breeze that often blows across the USS Stewart. Can you just imagine...More

Spent the afternoon with the family. $6 for a car to access the park. Views were great. The playground structure is great (although the best one in Galveston is by Schlitterban Waterpark across from the elementary school) You can see dolphins, people fishing off of...More

The park was a very nice surprise at the end of a lonely road. You may need to Google it to find it but it is very much worth the effort. There is a ship and sub that is available to tour. For the fishermen,...More

Donna, Thank you for taking the time to visit our great "diamond in the rough" island getaway. Walking, fishing, playgrounds; history and vista views; dolphins, fish, pelicans, hermit crabs; it is all here. Note about the abandoned building, that was impacted by hurricane Ike and...More

Kimberly W., First, thank you for taking the time to visit us. Your review is important to us and we strive to improve our operations every day. The manager of Seawolf Park is an amazingly proactive person and works hard at having staff patrol for issues like those you describe. As the new Exec Dir of the American Undersea Warfare Center (the two WWII ships on display), I am also dedicated to preserving our heritage, yet providing an updated experience for our customers. We hope you will come back and give the Seawolf Park experience another chance and bring a fishing pole!
