After my husband proposed, we decided to make a date out of scouting beach houses on bolivar island to have our wedding and reception. This was before we decided to elope to savannah and get married in Colonial Park Cemetery. We had and awesome dinner at Brick House, then got in line for the ferry. A ton of people head... More

You can walk on and take ferry for round trip ride. Sometimes a long wait if you are in car. You can see dolphins. Best is that it is free to ride

What a surprise this was...a free ferry ride for a 1-ton truck pulling a 38-foot 5th wheel camper! We saved driving about 50 Miles into Houston traffic by taking this smooth ride, and we saw dolphins, pelicans, egrets, and seagulls, in addition to oil derricks and several interesting looking ships. We had only a few minutes wait time, and the... More

Always think it's fun to be on the ferry. If you are lucky, like we were, you get to see dolphins and lots of birds. A wonderful treat for kids.

This is a great way to get across the water and is completely free. Would highly recommend it to see more of the area.

Took the ferry to the peninsula from Galveston. We were sent off by a bunch seagulls that swamped one end of the ferry. It was a beautiful sight. On the way, saw a couple of dolphins in the ocean. It was a quick ride with an upper deck that has bathroom facilities and a place to enjoy the view. It... More

We drove onto the ferry, walked to the upper deck while crossing, enjoyed the ride across the bay, great views of the water, land and bay. We saw dolphins jumping in front of the ferry. It was very organized and we felt safe. There was no charge.
