Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council meeting.

So honored to meet in the ballroom of historic Fort Crockett. It was a pleasure to get away from Houston and enjoy the sea wall and the beach.

Great learning adventure for us all. Best of all to be able to see the turtles we love. The tour was fantastic and informative.

Grew up in Galveston but this was first time I visited since they put in sea turtle hatchery, not exactly a hatchery but more on line with fishery, at least the production area on the seawall. They also have a nice museum while waiting for the tour to start.

This is a very educational place to visit. They are doing research on saving sea turtles. The facility is secured- you can't just walk in. I suggest you call for a tour. Fascinating what goes on there.

Being able to see the turtles was amazing. Kids loved it. Caution. Unless it's an open house or you have a reservation I don't think you can see the turtles. They are a must. Could have spent longer if the kids were interested in the open house activities, staffed with lots of energetic and knowledgeable folks. My preteens on spring... More

I am so impressed that these buildings got restored in such a lovely manner. The offices are beautiful, lots of informative information, and so conveniently located. The programs that they are involved in are so important and such a caring staff. Congratulations to NOAA and Marine Fisheries!

We tried to see the rescue turtles. We asked a gentleman about a tour and he said you need to have reservations, probably 3-4 months in advance. Maybe next time.

If you are planning a visit here, make sure to make your reservations months in advance. Unfortunately, you will be extremely disappointed if you don't.

I didn't know I loved sea turtles...but I do now! The volunteer guides were excellent in both the education room and the turtle barn. I would love to bring children here. It's a don't miss, if you can get in.

I went to the turtle rehab center on a 1 hour tour. I am very interested in marine life. The lady guide kept up outside in the blaring summer sun for 55 minutes while she talked non-stop, mostly about what a great job she is doing. When we finally got inside with the turtles we had almost no time. I... More
