We toured the ELISSA as part of our ticket package with adjacent museum and Historical/Harbor tour ($20 pp). Fun to explore this treasure - volunteers were working that day to restore!

Was interesting to visit and tour the ship and hear of its history and how it has been maintained and restored over the years.

Museum tour was very limited, movie was interesting (free). The Elissa was interesting to board and see the ropes etc. We really enjoyed the harbor tour. The tour guide was interesting and knew quite a bit without being preachy or cutesy/corny. We saw several groups of dolphins and they seemed to be wanting to show off. The boat followed them... The magnificent ship has been beautifully restored to its former glory! Also take time to walk the entire museum and learn about the boats restoration. Also you can learn a little about the time Texas has its own Navy!

Fun bit of history to see while visiting Galveston. The Elissa is a real historical ship, not a replica like others. Built in 1877 and still sailed annually she is very beautiful. Go spend an hour or two and visit her and the museum for a bit of days gone by.

Very beautiful, restored, tall ship. It is the 3rd oldest tall ship still sailing. You really got to explore below deck. I enjoyed it. My husband loved it. We do not sail.

So much fun to be "pirates" We enjoyed the entire ship. The kids went up and down MANY times. Some places were blocked off, which kinda made us sad, but we understand the safety.

The Elissa is fabulous, you'll get to walk through most of the ship only a few parts are off limits. It was raining the day we went but the ship was so fascinating I forgot about the rain! Take a step back in time to the era of wind powered sailing ships...the tall ships are beautiful effective working sculptures. The... More

Cool ship. My 5 and 3 year old boys liked it. I did as well. Went in it 2 times with lunch in between.
