Traffic jams, dangerous to pedestrians and bicyclists, dirty water and sand, and a smart phone parking system that is absolutely ridiculous. Parking should be free. The sea wall is garbage. A price gouging tourist trap, and one block off strip is ghetto. If you must...More

The main beach area is expansive: long and wide. It was very clean, and despite the parking spaces all along the water were taken, lots of room on the beach. It reminded me of California in that there is the requisite carnival rides at one...More

Sand was mostly clean and soft. Surf gentle, and water not too warm, nor too cool, as temp topped 90. Water was a pretty teal color during our stay.

This is a great beach and boardwalk. Nice and clean, no low tide odor. Plenty of parking I would suggest downloading paybyphone, when we were there it is $1.00 an hour during the day and no cost at night. Shopping and food galore. You can...More

The path to walk was fine, however there was not much else to do. Whenever we went there, the sea was choppy and brown. If you are looking for a good beach, I do not recommend going here. There are many better beaches in Galveston....More

If you love the beach then you'll enjoy the time here. Since the storms, Galveston seems to be focusing on cleaning and keeping clean areas that once were forgotten. There are all types of things to do when you get tired of the beach. Shopping,...More

Very clean beach. Great shelling. There is free parking on the Seawall for this beach (the only free parking beach). Has more meaning if you have read the history of the Seawall.

Stayed at Quality Inn which was across the road from beach. Rooms were nice and had balcony with ocean view and chairs. Free parking at hotel was great as needed to set up account on your phone for street parking. Plenty of restaurants within walking...More

Beautiful beach along the Seawall; nice walking area; lovely scenery; easily accessible; family friendly. Lots of restaurants and shops across the street from the Seawall. A very inviting area!

The Seawall is eleven miles long and has metered parking all along. If you just want a walk on the beach you can park pretty much anywhere (hot tip: there are steps at intervals. Park near the steps if you’re going to the... More

Yes it is a good beach for families. With a very gradual decline, most of the time the water is shallow a good distance from the beach. Yes you can bring your own umbrellas and chairs.
