We drove up and down the Galveston Seawall before we went to dinner with friends at MIller's Seawall Grill. There are lots of restaurants, hotels and souvenir shops along the Seawall drive. The Pleasure Pier is right off the Seawall. We've enjoyed eating at Millers, Nicks and Gaido's in Galveston. You can park along the Seawall and go to the beach. Now, there's parking fees along most of the Seawall although we found a free place to park further down the Seawall. There usually is traffic along the Seawall drive, so be prepared. I rented an electric bike and rode from the historic district along to along the Seawall. The water may not be crystal clear Caribbean blue but it was an awesome day out. Heaps of places to eat / stop for a drink along the way. Definitely recommend.

It's several miles long. I walked along it, during the day, for about two hours, up and back. There were many other pedestrians and some bicyclists. Dogs on a leash were being walked. I also saw a few loose dogs on the beach with their owners nearby. Freighters were slowly moving offshore. I walked briskly because of the chilly weather. Good exercise. …
