Some upscale others cheap ....a lot of atmosphere have to experience it depends on what you are looking for!

The Strand is a street stretching about 6 blocks in downtown Galveston. There are many shops, eateries, bars, etc. You can buy a beer in this area and legally walk around it.

The strand has really cute shops for gifts, clothing, and collectibles! We loved the candy shop and the sea themed shop! There were a few bars and restaurants and great architecture! We had a great time. Having to pay for parking on a quiet weekday...More
