Walked around for about 2 hours and perused the unique shops. Los of very interesting items, most with a nautical theme, of course. Only downside when we visited was lots of road construction going on, but still easy to navigate through. We found convenient free...More

Went to the strand area after visiting the seafood market at the docks. (Very Close). The streets and walks are under construction and very difficult to get around. Some steps are over 15" to get to the shops and old uneven skids are in place...More

It was a very cold Saturday on our last visit, but there are plenty of stores to explore, and they all were warm and cozy. Lots to see and do. When they complete the construction, it will really be a nice place to experience.

The strand area is a great place to find food. There are numerous places to eat. There are some shops to walk through and some historic buildings to explore. We stayed near the beach so it was a 5 min drive to the strand.

The Strand is an area of Galveston that is near the cruise ships. It has many shops, bars and restaurants. It was a good place to stroll around. We found a vintage ice cream store named La Kings. The Strand is a must visit.

I believe there is a city bus but I'm not sure about routes or stops. Uber is an option if you don't have a vehicle and there are group bikes available for rent up and down the Strand !
