n 2011 Messina Hof Hill Country Winery opened its doors in Fredericksburg, the second largest wine tourism destination in the country. Sitting on nearly 10 acres in the heart of Texas wine country along Highway 290, this winery also has its own vineyard. The Lenoir grapes grown at this location go into the making of more traditional style ports.

We visited several wineries along 290. Messina Hof had a friendly staff and top notch wines. I would go back to Fredericksburg just to go to Messina Hof.

Well educated and mannered host. Knowledgeable and understanding of our limited knowledge of wines. Helpful and courteous on every pour! The Messina Hof house is certainly on a class of their own! Don't leave Hill Country without stopping here!!!

Nice variety of wine. Young lady that served me was pleasant. Good German style winery with a good selection of wine.

We have hit about every single winery on the loop and some are enjoyable while some clearly should be missed. Messina Hof is one of the few that is an absolute must! The staff is friendly even though it can get pretty crowded. The wine...More
