It's a venerable jewel--even the dance floor itself is over a century old, but it's still a happenin' place. The regulars are friendly, drinks are reasonable and the sound and sightlines in the main music hall upstairs are both excellent. The Swing dances on Wed, and the Campfire Jam on Thursday are fun and lively. Only drawbacks, no handicap access... More

You can dance Blues gere every Wednesday 9:30 to 11:30 PM. A lot of singles. Very active dance floor. You can come solo or by friends. We had a wonderful time at this venue. The drinks were not extremely expensive and the sound was great. We intend to celebrate our anniversary here every year!

East coast swing lessons begin here each Wednesday at 8pm on the second floor. Dance until 1130pm. Cover is $7. What a deal! Beginners and the more experienced all dance together. Bring your energy and some friends or come alone-- you'll dance as much as you want to. If you'd rather dance to the blues, you can do that on... More

Sons of Hermann is the place you'd want to go on Wednesday nights to dance your heart out. It costs $7 per person, they have a swing dance class from 8-9, then social dancing till around midnight. There is a blues dance lesson later in the evening, with social dancing as well, plus a different room for even more swing... More

Likes: This is a really old building with a lot of character. Full bar downstairs and a dance hall type room upstairs. Dislikes: Parking was a challenge. Neighborhood not so great. But still had a good time.

This was my second time at the weekly electric campfire. The last time was a few years ago. This is a free event EVERY Thursday. You pay only for the drinks, which are very low priced with nice staff. In usually more than 1 room, people bring acoustic instruments - most guitars, some harmonicas, last time a banjo or two,... So this place has been kicking it up for 100 years or so. The building is nostalgic, and KNON fans are all present. The regulars clearly get the better service treatment, but it's still not bad. The dance floors have seen decades of hot moves and the walls have the sounds of legendary greats permeated within them. On this particular... More

The Sons of Hermann Hall in Dallas has long been a great place to see live music. The upstairs music area is small enough to make every seat in the house close to the stage but large enough for you to be able to get a ticket. Do yourself a favor and check out some live music at the Sons...you'll... More
